Wandering
Last night, after having been spurned by little brother who preferred media-drinkies to dinner, I decided that rather than sit in a hotel with the TV and Private Eye I'd take the camera out for a walk.

This was mostly a good idea, and I ended up at Tower Hill and set myself the target of taking 10 photos with a wide lens, and then see what I ended up with. The best three I've put behind a cut below.

(They look a bit dark on this PC compared the laptop where I did the cropping/b&w conversion so I might sort that out when I get home - let me know what you think).

Think they're great.

I've just had my favourite kind of early morning wake-up at work. The kind where I casually follow a link on our website to be confronted by erect members (and I don't mean our local elected councillors standing upright). Porn-at-work trauma.

Could be worse - could be "elected members' erected members"...

Is that right - or have I committed a capostrophe?

There's nothing at all "right" about the way you're thinking, that's for sure...

*shudder*

It probably was the councillors' orgy. It wasn't on my screen for long. Just long enough for me to squeak "porn alert" and share with the team.

So there are dangers in webcasting council meetings then? ;-)

So you could have come round for tea and plotted destruction!!

I think they're great. They're such an improvement on earlier ones because you've composed them better. You might not have thought you were, but you're *seeing* the picture, rather than the image, if that makes sense. Congrats!

Thanks :-)

I certainly could! Still, I found a nice little organic Italian eatery.

I was definitely trying to "see the picture" more - and be very aware of DoF, and also to try and end up with a 6x4 proportioned image I liked rather than just crop to a different shape.

Onwards & upwards - and back to the completely different pace of gig photography this evening; though I'm looking forward to a slight variation in shooting a play next week.

Of course I'm usually working late, but still ...

Another time I may hassle you then. How long are you in "town" for?
yapman From: yapman Date: August 18th, 2004 09:55 am (UTC) (Link)
the forseeable ...

I work here now, although I may eventually get to spend time working from home.

You should also add quondam and bhamtrappies; if you're the Andy I think you are anyway :-)

wulfboy From: wulfboy Date: August 18th, 2004 06:44 am (UTC) (Link)
The spikes look good. Dramatic and that. Sharp and at ankle-height.

Sharp and at ankle-height.

Tragically they weren't :-)

I walked past them once, after a brief stop thinking "I want to do something with them"; and on the way back tried a handful of different angles but this is the one I like the best.

See? I love my city. (And the first photograph, which is making me want to write things.) And you will love my city too. So there. :)
