Corrosive Shame
Therapy for Life
Still loads of photos to play catch-up with - see the cut below.

No phonecall about yesterday which makes me be pessimistic, but I refuse to get too bothered about it. I critqued my interview style after the event - and am happy that I can improve another time.

Last night, on my way back from Lancaster, I popped in to see the glorious Pennington. I was disappointed he is not surrounded by the trappings of the PROFESSIONAL LRP organiser - no 4x4, expensive gadgets, etc. - all rather humdrum. Nice to see he's still very enthusiastic, and that the online booking is being a success. And ate pizza.

This morning I had to be in Hay on Wye for 10am. This involved me getting the train from Birmingham to Oxford, then getting a car and driving to Hay. With the help of Virgin Trains I got there at 12pm. Rowlocks. Then the odd light flake of snow started getting worse. Mind you, I got coffee and lunch, and they were very pleasant people.

Isn't it a little soon to be hearing anything? Or did they say they would get back to you today? Remember, no news is good news. Except when it isn't.

They say "blah blah few days" but normally mean "we'll phone our first choice tomorrow but if it doesn't work out we'll work our way down the list".

I wondered if the shoes were the left over from a suicide attempt, then realised a major junction in a residential area of Birmingham isn't the same as Brighton beach.

The food-shots are from a curry on Sunday night, and then from pancake day at the-house-wot-I-own. The hands and pancake belong to grendelchild who had the misfortune to be sitting next to me.

I'm actually taking all these shots with my phone. Which you can just about make out in the shot of Harvey at the petrol station. In the car mirror you can see the other half of the dog, me and the phone that I'm holding. It's not a bad camera - for a phone... The lens is quite wide and, erm, well that's about it really. But it is easier than carting around 2 or 3kg of camera and glass - plus it goes in my pocket.

I'm having to keep trying harder to find subjects on "office days" but the old photo-journal seems to be ok when I'm out and about. I'll probably have to work out a more sensible scheme than "at least one photo a day".

I like the dog picture. :-) Whose dog is it?

And I too would have thought it would be a little early to be hearing about the interview. If they said "a couple of days" perhaps they have other people to see?

They had 5 people being interviewed on the day. I'm good at reading schedules upside down. There has been a proto-development - I've had a call from one of the interviewers - but it went to voicemail as I was in a meeting. He's asked me to call him back but I'm playing a delaying game so am not going to do it just yet.

The dog belongs to Chris who helps Matt run his LRP game.

I suspect I would have noticed ;-)

No - expensive camera is going to be "just in time" for Maelstrom I suspect.
