Corrosive Shame
Therapy for Life
I started thinking earlier that I've not put much on my LJ recently in the way of musings. There's been a lot of recording events in text and image, but nothing that was really just me. I wasn't sure what to say.

Then, there was amazon.

Oh amazon, how I used to love thee.

The story goes something like this. I place order with amazon. I then decide "Actually I don't mind paying for First Class delivery" so I go and change the order. Immediately the amazon system resets its clock. So instead of expecting delivery early next week I have allegedly to wait another 1-2 weeks.

I'm a bit bemused about this - surely their system can cope with alterations - and actually count from when the item was ordered, rather than a rather crude method of calculation. In the meantime I shall shop around...

Still, job interview next week. Maybe if I don't talk a lot about it it'll go better!

It will go very well, I'm sure. :-)

Amazon have deteriorated a lot since the early days, IMO. Their customer service is appalling and seems to be handled by semi-trained monkeys who are barely literate in English and only able to repeat form letters which in no way address the problem you contact them about.

Is the interview for the local job that should be a push-over, or will it jinx it to say any more?

I spent a lot of time arguing with Amazon customer services about problems with my Switch card. Turned out to be something really simple - but no one there seemes to have a clue. That was a couple of years ago. Recently they've been very random with their dates. My favourite grumble is the -'it'll be here in 1-2 weeks' oh look - it turned upthe day before payday (my fault really) or 6 weeks later - 'erm we can't get it'.
