The last couple of days have been pretty action-packed, though I did manage my usual tricks of overcommitting and being "too tired in control of a computer".
A chance conversation with "Mr LiveJournal - 040604" led to a night out with
The music, like at many clubs, suffered from multiple personality disorder - swining wildly from Ministry to the Damned to PWEI to Suicide Commando. It reminded me to work more on
All this exposure to rawk is increasingly amusing as it becomes obvious that my little brother, despite being about as rawk as a lettuce leaf in his own taste now is far more clued up on the wider genre than me - thanks to Detonator.tv. He finds this fact confusing, I enjoy my ignorance.
Yesterday I went out to make myself ill - at least that might have been people's perceptions. Despite not having quite agreed terms for use of the photos I took myself and the camera to an LRP even just to photograph it. However, I did mostly forget to eat and drink - which meant some rather lightheaded and dizzy moments at 90mph on the M54. Not so good.
The event was interesting - very much "old-school" LRP - a relatively small group - quite tightly knit, costume and props ok - but I suspect might have been a little cliquely to play. Oh, and more pairs of leather trousers in evidence than at the rock club...
I'll see how many of the photos look half-decent, and then attempt to find a time-warp so I can find enough time to process them all and all the others I've not done yet. Must also back-up. This last point came home to roost on Friday night when my PC suddenly stopped. This was quite disconcerting but I put it down to overheating. Maybe I'd better buy a new fan for the box.
Hopefully I shall have a couple more opportunities to play with the camera (though a small thread/hair has managed to get itself behind the prism somehow! - doesnt' affect the image thankfully) at some gigs. Depending on the promoters I'm hoping to have the option to get to Queensryche, Nickelback and Anthrax. Not for the music I suspect!
