Yes I think that's probably fair criticism. The prog was not exactly nuanced and it did seek to entertain as well as inform. At the same time though, if through adopting that format, it manages to engage more people in serious debate about things which matter, then that has to be valuable - in spite of the weaknesses you identify. You may remember that only the other week I found myself arguing with someone who was convinced the BNP were the victims of a horrible leftist smear campaign and that they weren't really racists at all... I wonder if he was watching...

I'm not convinced it will stimulate debate. Is not an argument as strong as it's weakest point at the stage where you are trying to engage people in it anew?
