I was using Canon EOS10D, ISO 800 at -1 or -2EC, Speedlite 550 and a choice of 20mm 1.8; 50mm 1.4; 85mm 1.8 and 100mm 2.8 lenses.

(Plus a big bag...)

How about yourself? What did you use for those Goteki pics.

Yeah, figured you had some nice glass. Was using a Nikon d100, no speed light (well the built in one for a few shots which completly killed any atmosphere), and the standard 75mm lens. Only goes up to f3.5 so i have to expose for too long to get enough light in the frame. hense most of the shots are blurred. forgot to check ISO, but the camera was auto selecting 1600 it tells me, heh.

I used to hate flash, but now I know I can control it and turn it down then I'm more sympathetic.

The key I've found for gig photography is fast glass, fast glass and fast glass. Surprising eh!
