Corrosive Shame
Therapy for Life
Avid readers will remember my annoyance at trying to get my Dad's PC working over the Christmas period - well today the replacement was returned, was out of the box for an hour, now has been put back in the box awaiting collection tomorrow.

I could use large numbers of creative expletives at this point, but I won't. I will be restrained and professional, but really I will have to question building a PC in that way another time. First there was a DOA, then the courier pretended they couldn't find the house to collect it, then the courier couldn't find the house to deliver the replacement, then the next is a DOA...

Next time - Dell...

Who did you go for in the end?

Scan. They're normally fine. Just seems they might have a batch of dodgy Asus Terminator systems.

I've had a bad time off them before.

I tend to go with a dedicated system builder if I'm buying a whole system. Evesham for preference, since they've seemed pretty good for me. Dell are reasonable though - the cost is a bit of a downer with them, though.

I've had two Dells and no complaints. Alex has one and mine has been transformed piece by piece into something more akin to my needs. Not sure there's any Dell part left in it, tbh, since mimeticgel replaced my monitor and keyboard/mouse for Xmas with an iiyama flat panel and a wireless set.

I use Watford Aries systems these days. They are a bit budget but they are reliable.
