London, Southampton, Carnivale and Ski Hats

I've clearly not been in London for too long. The tube this morning was not-unexpectedly cosy but my abject horror was perhaps an overreaction.

In other news, I went to my German class last night after missing many weeks (and indeed having been crossed off the register). It's good fun, if very slow paced - I'm sure the week I didn't go but saw Rammstein instead I learned much more. Still, I have reinforced my ability to ask where the Krankenhaus is on any skiing trip to the German speaking Alps (like the one next week!).

I've also managed to lose my hat. Again. Every skiing holiday I panic, buy a new hat, then lose it. I guess I'll have to budget for it like "ski pass" and "food". Currently I'm thinking about Whistler next year for a fortnight which is quite expensive, but is flying scheduled rather than crappy-charter. In my post-Excel Airways state it even seems worth it. I might have to visit Ellis Brigham and avoid spending lots of money on new ski wear. Since joining the Ski Club of Great Britain I have the urge to buy a helmet, transciever, designer ski wear and bitch about snowboarders.

So, I'm in London today, back tonight, then Southampton tomorrow night, then London Thursday and Friday. Must pack at some point, and watch the last DVD of Carnivale which, while suffering from Twin Peaks-esque "We're not sure what this means, but we'll put it in the script now then rationalise later" I'm finding strangely engaging. Self-flagellation, paedophilia, sex, drugs and dead fish - how in heaven's name did any US network agree to make this?

Today I am mostly assessing PR companies. I dislike PR companies. I expect to spend much time surfing the net instead.

Entertain me, and better still use a picture I've taken of you on your LJ userinfo. There are three who do so at the moment and I'm hoping to get more cheap web-hits as time goes on.
