Diamond Rendezvous

Through the power of the Internet I've been alerted to the fact that the next Diamond Rendezvous burlesque night will be 11th February, somewhere in Brum, with a Victorian Theme.

Now, this is one of the best kept secrets of the Brum club scene and is well worth a look for the retro-music, light drressing up and entertainment. The acts can be a bit of a mixed bag, but you can be guaranteed a mix of live music, burlesque dancing and often short storytelling.

Do come along, do let me know if you're interested and I can see about a discount (it can be a bit pricey on the door).

In The Nursery

I'm not around for any of these dates, but would say this is well worth a look for Midlanders.

In The Nursery present a live Optical Music screening of their
soundtrack to the 1926 avant-garde Japanese silent film 'A Page of
Madness' at the Showroom Cinema, Sheffield on Saturday 14th January
2006 @ 6.00 pm.

Their score blends unnerving electronics with the digital
manipulation of traditional Japanese instrumentation and percussion.

This will be a rare opportunity to witness the live audio-visual
event as the twin brothers have not performed it in the the UK since
its premiere at Leeds International Film Festival 2003.
