[GPP] Maelstrom VII - Initiation
So, another weekend in a wet field over. And boy, was it wet this time. Fortunately there was good drainage on the site, and I just have the one remaining problem of how to get all the green out of my kit.

Set is at http://www.disturbing.org.uk/images/lrp/pd/initiation/index.htm

Most of them people have made, but there are a number of people that sell stuff.

Couple of examples:

I know that scurvy knave!

I guessed - hence why I put the photo up to embarrass him. I only ever see him at Maelstrom, and know him about well enough to swap a few words.

Photogenic chappy with a mohawk seems to have replaced photogenic girly with long red hair or japanese style outfit as the subject of choice for this set!

Some very good ones there that pick up the style & some atmospheric ones like 5959.

Can I copy the ones of me please.

Copy away!

I wasn't too sure about the night ones - but I think they just about work.

Nice captures! Many fantastic costumes and makeup jobs again.
Hey, I actually know someone for a change (serpentstar is the bloke with the bow in 5883).

A couple of my friends have been trying to lure me into Maelstrom. If I'm ever back in the UK while there's an event on (and, more importantly, if I can convince my girlfriend it'll make for a fun weekend) then I may just have to try it.

Even have the player pack here in Sweden with me...

I really like some of the backlit and candelit ones. They're gorgeous.

I dread to think what the plot would be...

I just treasure the idea that people walk to and fro in front of me hoping for photos. Plus the trick is to stop anyway - not keep walking :-)

Those are two good ones. The black/yellow makeup is brilliant, and Jude (whose LJ I can't remember) is just great to shoot. I shall do it again given half a chance.

I quite liked the bottom right photo until I looked at it closely: The lammies detract from it aswell as the day glow orange bow. The watch crime on the guy at the back made me have to stop looking.

I did Photoshop some watches out - but they were everywhere and really noticeable on the natives.

How much of taking a good photo is having a beautiful subject? Is good simply appealing or is the trick to go deeper than that? Green mohawk man is a beautiful subject (oh, yes) and it's a good photo. It's him and his beauty that has given you the intensity. Would I think it was such a good photo if he was dough-faced and ugly? I wonder.

Dave may not be quite as beautiful but I love that photo because it's captured the dry questioning humour which I like so much about him as a person. V OOC. That's a good photo.

It's both. The challenge is to work with what you have - whether that's Tom, Dave, low-light, etc.

I like to think I manage to rise to the occasion in most cases.
