Time's 100 books meme...
TIME have picked their 100 best English language novels from 1923 to the present.

So how many have you read?

12

Which ones have you read? (or indeed haven't if that’s a quicker way to do it)

A Clockwork Orange
Animal Farm
Atonement
Catch-22
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
Lord of the Flies
The Lord of the Rings
Neuromancer
1984
Snow Crash
To Kill a Mockingbird
Watchmen

Do you have anything to say in your defence?

No. No excuses. No regrets.

That's one more than I've read (two or three differences though).

And I thought some of them were bobbins.

Lolita is around somewhere if you want to increase your score.

Hah! I beat you all! I've only read 6. In my defence - who gives a toss what TIME thinks? There's only one on my list that I would include in a top 100 anyway.

30, but there are some on the list I should really have read by now...

Coo, 18 and one on order

The ones I loved which you haven't read are in bold

Animal Farm
Atonement
The Blind Assassin
Catch-22
A Clockwork Orange
The Grapes of Wrath
Herzog
I, Claudius
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Lord of the Flies
Midnight's Children
1984
Possession - thought about bold; it really impacted but started off as a slog
The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
The Spy who came in from the Cold
To Kill a Mockingbird
White Teeth possibly not your style though

I pre-ordered 'Never Let me Go' from Amazon last week; it's not released in paperback till the beginning of March but I'm really looking forward to it.

Re: Coo, 18 and one on order

I'd consider reading "The Blind Assassin" and have "Midnight's Children" on a shelf somewhere. I think.

Re: Coo, 18 and one on order

What would you recommend that I haven't read?

Re: Coo, 18 and one on order

Snow Crash is good - in a irreverent post-Cyberpunk kind of way.

Spot the uncultured one!

Thanks to mock O'Levels I can say that I've actually read one of them: Lord of the Flies, and that's it!

Lord of the Flies
The Lord of the Rings

To Kill a Mockingbird

One flew Over the cuckoo's nest

I'd also say that "Empire of the Sun" should be in there. But we could all add books to the list.
