Corrosive Shame
Therapy for Life
So far this year I have managed to avoid saying much of any consequence on LJ. This has happened before when I get confused about the purpose of the medium and start saving myself for greater things.

These have not yet happened.

This weekend I have mostly been feeling like a smoked fish.

I have taken many photos - before I go off and tidy some clothes and bags - here is a sneaky look at what I did yesterday.

More playing with sepia and typewriter porn to follow.

Actually, opinions on the toning welcome. I tend to go for quite a high contrast tone but am interested in what people think.

Cool, I'm looking forward to the rest of that set.

Incidentally, what process are you using for sepia toning?
I'm thinking of doing that with my photos from the Wildwest LARP last year but I don't really like the Photoshop filter. Thanks!

I use a manual tritone and then curves in PS for the sepia. I prefer the kind of detailled control you get over presets etc.

Depends what you want to get out of the shots. It's a nice enough photo from a technical pov but aren't you trying to say something about burlesque in the shot? I'm not sure that the models are portraying what one might want.

What I see is a really confrontational shot where the woman on the right is about to punch the one one the left and the one on the left looks like she doesn't mind taking the punch because she has secretly already knifed tall woman's family in pre-emptive revenge. Maybe I think too much. *shrugs* Good for advertising something with a story - a play or whatever.

Good point!

They were shot to promote burlesque and performance art - which in this case is about telling stories, looking sexy and sassy etc.

So in that sense having a context over and above just being "technically pretty" is the point.

Emotion is good.

Stand and Deliver

When will you have done the photos from Stand and Deliver? I'd like to show my outfit to a photographer friend of mine, I have an idea for a Suicide Girls shoot based on what I was wearing that night
